First Holy Communion is one of the seven Sacraments.

We have classes that run from January to May every year.

​

In our parish, we have embarked on a process for preparing children for the sacraments called ‘Growing in Faith Together’. In this process, you are encouraged to become the teacher of your child, with our support. This is a memorable time in your child’s life – and the memories you create during this preparation period will be cherished for a long time.

We recognise the diversity in the make-up of family life. The important thing for us is that you know that we welcome you and that we will give you all the resources and support you need to prepare your child for this special time in their life

First Holy Communion Sacramental Programme 2027

Eligible candidates are invited from children who will be Years 3 to 6 in September 2026.

 

Applicants must be baptised Catholics and attend Mass at either Our Lady Help of Christians, Mottingham or St Patrick’s Chislehurst.

 

Application forms are available for collection from OLHC Mottingham on

• Saturday 6pm Mass on the 13th, 20th, 27th June and 4th and 11th July.

• Sundays 11.15am Mass on the 21th, and 28th June and 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th July

  
  All completed application forms must be submitted to the catechists and include two photographs, one of the applicant and another with their family/carer with whom they attend weekly Mass.
  
  The deadline for completed forms is Sunday 9 August 2026.
  
  Please note we only accept paper applications. PLEASE DO NOT HAND YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATION FORMS TO FR MARIO. Late applications will not be accepted.
